You awaken in a strange, impossibly tall tower at the highest floor with no memory except for two things: Your name, and your strange fear of gold. 

This becomes quite obvious when you find out that the tower has become overrun by creatures known as Goldbeasts, sentient goo-creatures made out of molten gold, who have an innate and unsatisfiable urge to transform humans into themselves! You must slowly make your way down the tower, meeting strange characters (like a strange rabbit named Karat) and trekking through complex, strange worlds inside the tower, all in hopes of someday making your way home...but a group known as the Angels of Gold seem to be hunting you. 

Who are they, why are they here, and how will you stay human??
